The Best Souvenirs

Get everyone in the photo with Disney's PhotoPass!

My family and I have been visiting the Walt Disney World® Resort since 1992, and after all of these years I can honestly say my favorite souvenir is our photographs. Over the years, we have placed them in frames, in photo albums, in scrapbooks and even in boxes for storage!  We love to go through them and relive magical moments. We enjoy flipping through the photo albums and scrapbooks, recalling the story each photo tells. There are pictures that we have taken ourselves, which of course means the photographer is left out of the photo, and we also have many pictures taken through the years by Disney’s professionally trained photographers, which capture the whole family!

Disney has made collecting these photographic souvenirs quite convenient with PhotoPass.  PhotoPass is a unique system of taking and storing the photos that Disney’s photographers take for you on a PhotoPass card. The card is the size of a credit card and works in a similar manner. Before snapping a picture of you and your family, the Disney photographer will swipe your card and the image is then stored under your card number.  You will reuse the Read the rest of this entry »

Staying at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

January 5th, 2010

yacht-club-lobbyWelcome to Seaside New England. Once you walk into this beautiful, elegant resort you will be taken back to the late 1800s. With the rich hardwood floors (polished almost daily), brass accents, with the art located all around the lobby you really are taken back to yesteryear. Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is famous for two things. One is the location within walking distance to Epcot® and Disney’s Hollywood StudiosTM, and the other is Stormalong Bay, Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts’ very popular pool.
Staying at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort? You can’t ask to be any closer to Epcot®. Just a short walk or boat ride away, guests can enter Epcot® via the International Gateway-know by some as the “backdoor” to Epcot®. The International

Snow in Orlando?

Fun for all the family!

Fun for all the family!

Most people expect sun and fun when they get to Florida. But according to Disney legend (as documented on www.Disneyworld.com): “The story behind Disney’s Blizzard Beach begins with a freak snow storm that blanketed Florida.Within the blink of a snowflake-tipped eye, a ski resort sprang up with slalom courses, toboggan slides and iceberg walkways. Then, just as quickly, the weather shifted back to hot. The whole resort started to melt. An enterprising alligator saw an opportunity! Clad in a scarf and hat, this Ice Gator slid down the snow-less ski jump, shouting ‘Yahoooo!’ all the way. With a big splash he landed in a pool of melted snow below the mountain. It was at this moment the slushy, slippery slopes became an exhilarating Water Park with a ski theme. “

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is a great place for both the adventurous members of your family, as well as the kids. The main attraction is Summit Plummet, on Mt. Gushmore. At 120- feet high, it’s the world’s tallest, fastest free-fall speed slide, a breathtaking 60 mph plunge straight down and visible from almost anywhere in Read the rest of this entry »
